Timur Tumajev / Тимур Тумаев

Musculoskeletal specialist / Rehabilitation Specialist in Tallinn

About me

Hello! My name is Timur Tumajev. I am a rehabilitation specialist with more than 15 years of experience in rehabilitation, manual therapy, posture correction, and movement restoration.

My approach is based not only on professional education and years of clinical practice but also on my personal experience of recovering after a leg amputation. This gives me a deeper understanding of movement disorders, pain, and the compensatory patterns that often develop after injuries or musculoskeletal conditions.

My approach

My goal is to help people reduce pain, relieve unnecessary muscle tension, and restore natural, efficient movement.

My approach has been shaped not only by education and professional experience but also by my own rehabilitation journey.

After losing my leg, I went through years of recovery and today live an active life using a prosthetic leg.

This experience has given me a unique understanding of how the body adapts to physical challenges, compensates for limitations, and develops new movement patterns.

It taught me that lasting recovery begins not with treating symptoms, but with identifying and addressing the underlying cause of the problem.

That is why my work combines movement assessment, manual therapy, and individually tailored exercises to create a personalized treatment plan for each client.

For me, this is more than a profession.

It is a journey I have experienced myself—and one that I am committed to helping others complete so they can move with greater freedom, confidence, and comfort.

My story

I have dedicated most of my life to studying human movement, rehabilitation after injuries, and understanding the true causes of pain.

However, my deepest understanding of how the body works came not only through education and clinical experience, but through my own rehabilitation journey.

After losing my leg, I had to learn how to walk again, rebuild my balance, adapt to new physical demands, and quite literally relearn movement from the ground up.

That experience completely changed the way I understand the human body and movement.

I experienced firsthand how the body develops compensatory movement patterns, how muscle overload occurs, and how even small imbalances can gradually lead to pain, discomfort, and restricted mobility.

That was when I realized that true recovery does not begin with treating symptoms.

It begins with understanding the underlying cause.

This journey shaped me not only as a person, but also as a rehabilitation specialist.

Today, my goal is not simply to reduce pain or muscle tension for a short time.

I want to understand what is preventing your body from moving naturally—where function has been lost, which structures are overloaded, and what compensatory patterns are maintaining the problem.

This approach is designed to achieve more than temporary relief.

Its goal is to restore natural, efficient, and long-lasting movement.

For me, rehabilitation is more than a profession.

It is a journey I have experienced myself.

That is why today I help others regain freedom of movement, confidence in their bodies, and a better quality of life.

Education and experience

My professional journey began more than 15 years ago with sports massage and gradually led me into the fields of sports medicine and clinical rehabilitation.

I completed professional training in London in sports and clinical rehabilitation, where I gained in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, manual therapy, physiotherapy, and functional rehabilitation.

This education shaped my systematic approach to rehabilitation. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I aim to identify the underlying cause of the problem and restore natural, efficient movement.

During my time in London, I worked in sports medicine and rehabilitation, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of conditions—from sports-related overload injuries to complex movement dysfunctions.

Since 2018, I have been running my own private practice, where every treatment plan is tailored to the individual rather than following a standard protocol.
